Yes, all of our classes are à la carte. |
Q: |

A: |
Members are welcome to stay all day or come and go when not serving required volunteer commitment. |
Q: |
Are classes all year or just one semester? |
A: |
Classes are designed to last the full cooperative year. To maintain consistency for students and teachers, registration closes before the school year begins and remains closed until the next year. |
Q: |
How do I become a member and register? |
A: |
Once registration is open: Step 1: Review and agree to our statement of faith and handbook. Request to JOIN (upper right-hand corner) and wait for approval. Do not click "join" in the upper right-hand corner until you are ready to pay. The approval process takes 24-48 hours. Step 2: Follow the directions carefully at the top of the member's application (photo, payment, Sign Up Genius volunteer commitments, etc.). Skipping steps will delay your approval to register for classes. Step 3: Pay the invoice for the student commitment fee. Step 4: Once your payment has been accepted and you sign up for service hours, you will receive an approval email to register for classes. Step 5: Register for classes under our membership "Registration" tab. Once completed, you can pay your invoice found in the upper right-hand corner of the website. Your student will not be able to attend classes until the full payment is made Still, have questions? Email us at [email protected] |

|
Q: |
What is the difference between the student committment fee and registration cost? |
A: |
The student commitment fee is the enrollment cost per student to cover fixed operational cooperative costs. Registration fees are the cost per class. The materials fee is the cost for materials for a specific class. We do not have a family fee to help offset the cost for families with multiple children.
|
Q: |
Do members need to agree with the Statement of Faith? |
A: |
Yes, the Statement of Faith can be found here. We are a Christ-centered cooperative with like-minded families. Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Philippians 4:1-2 |
Q: |
Do I have to volunteer? |
A: |
Yes, we are cooperative where all members volunteer. Any children not in classes are welcome to come with you and help. You may view our Volunteer Policy on the link below. |
Q: |
How much are the classes and membership fee? |
A: |
Enrollment fees for new membership are $120 per child. Class fees vary from $179 and up. Lab and/or material fees also vary from class to class. When registration opens you can find them listed on our website under the "Class Registration" tab. Click on the class to find the information. The fees are listed to the far right.

Q: |
Do I have to teach at the cooperative?
|
A: |
No, you are not required to teach. If you are interested in teaching, please email us at [email protected]. |
Q: |
Do you have preschool classes? |
A: |
No, we do not have preschool classes. |
Q: |
What curriculum is used?
|
A: |
Our cooperative classes are designed to complement, not replace, parents’ efforts to homeschool their children and are taught from a biblical worldview. We offer enrichment and academic classes for kindergarten through high school, available in both collegiate style and à la carte formats. Families can choose as few or as many classes as they need. Many of our classes offer a full curriculum, including activities, text, media, assignments, and projects, all from a biblical perspective. While some classes are based on classical, Charlotte Mason, or unit study foundations, all courses emphasize experiential learning. Each class is unique and has different requirements, which are detailed in the course descriptions on our website under the “Registration” tab. Here, you can also find information on required materials, curriculum, and class costs. |
Q: |
Do you offer traditional math classes? |
A: |
We do not offer traditional math classes because math is highly individualized. Our experience has shown that holding math classes once a week, with homework assigned for completion at home, is often not effective. Students who encounter difficulties often have to wait until the following week for the teacher to address their concerns, significantly slowing their progress. Additionally, students who are ready to move ahead find themselves unable to excel, as they are often held back by the need to wait for other students to catch up. However, we do offer math skill-building classes for our lower elementary and upper elementary students, which have been highly successful in helping them develop a solid foundation.

Q: |
Is Crestview a business? |
A: |
Crestview Christian Homeschool Academy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit homeschool ministry. It is a board-driven, board-directed cooperative. |
Q: |
Who is the director of Crestview? |
A: |
Crestview has never had one director since its inception, but rather a Shepherding Board of Directors (SBOD). These volunteer directors oversee the mission, purpose, members, and administration and approve all functions of the cooperative. The SBOD articulates the mission and develops strategies to achieve it. The SBOD monitors and holds all leaders accountable for doing their job. They lead by example, delegate, and monitor. Valuing good stewardship, the SBOD maintains financial accountability and solvency by approving and overseeing the annual budget. The SBOD also ensures legal compliance, obeying laws, making good judgments, setting aside personal interests, and acting in the best interest of ministering to our members. The SBOD ensures there are no conflicts of interest and ensures full disclosure of conflicts between outside organizations. Crestview is a board-driven, board-directed cooperative. Our current board members are Beth King (chair), Lisa Stroup (secretary), and Leslie Pechacek (treasurer). You may reach them through [email protected]. "Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory." 1 Peter 5:2-4 |
